i totally agree. i think women deserve equal opportunity in work, school, etc.
my question is: if we’re all equal, why is it frowned down upon when a man beats up a woman, but it isn’t when a man beats up another man? i don’t understand how feminists use domestic abuse to their advantage in arguments…it’s ironic since it goes against everything they stand for?
im not really anti-feminist for the most part. yeah some of their ideas come across to me as “what the fuck”, but this is just something i’m curious about. not trying to offend anybody here.
by the way i totally don’t support domestic abuse, by no means do i want to walk out of my door and get kicked in the face.
I am feeling in a good enough mood tonight to answer this question diplomatically. It is in fact frowned upon when a man bets up another man, it is called assault. Same when a woman beats up another woman, or when there is an incident between individuals of the opposite sex.
If these individuals are romantically involved, relatives, or cohabitants this is called domestic violence. While domestic violence happens to men as well 85% of domestic violence victims are women. I happen to work in a domestic violence safe house and I can assure you that as a feminist I would NEVER use domestic violence as a defense in an argument. But one cannot argue with FACTS and the facts are that women are victims of domestic violence.
- One in every four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime.
- Females who are 20-24 years of age are at the greatest risk of nonfatal intimate partner violence.
- Women make up 3/4 of the victims of homicide by an intimate partner
hope this answer helps.
